DMCA Notice:How to Complain to Google to Remove Copyright Contents

By

DMCA is to protect the interests of the web content publishers who publish their articles on blogs or webpages such as hubpages and in video content sites. This hub will explain the processes that you need to follow to remove your stolen contents that is shown on other’s blog or websites. Remember that this DMCA complain will help you to remove contents from Google services only, which means that if anyone is using your contents and showing it in their sites then that will be taken down on your behalf. But before a take-down action takes place, Google team will verify that if your claim is valid and you are the original creator of the contents.

What kind of contents can be removed?

Contents on Blogspot, Picasa, YouTube, Orkut , Google Plus and some other services related to Google can easily be investigated and can be notified Google if there are any violation of your contents. Let me share a bit about my experience with Google. In 2010, I’ve sent complaints to Google about two of my hubs and they responded me without 24 hours. In my case, one Blogspot user stolen my hub and published it on his blog without my permission and after launching my complaint Google removed that content within a very short time-within a day. So, there is no doubt that anyone will get away by stealing your contents.

Is my content be removed from services run by other than Google

By making a DMCA complain, you can easily have removed the plagiarized contents published on Google’s services including their search engines. But, it does not mean that a rogue published will not publish their contents and show it in their website and that content will not be visible to Bing, Yahoo and some other search engines. Google has the right to remove any plagiarized contents published under their flagship services, but not to others. The good news is that since Google is the largest and by far has the majority of the market share of web search, a notice from Google to take down a particular content will be valued by a website or blog owner, unless they have fear of having their site removes from Google Search.
